Phu Quoc is the "new star" of Vietnam tourism

Travel + Leisure newspaper called Phu Quoc is a "new star" and ranked this island in third place in the list of 23 best destinations in 2023.

"The largest island in Vietnam is one of the new stars of Vietnam tourism. This is an enchanting destination with white sand beaches, green forests, and many waterfalls and caves," the American newspaper commented on Phu Quoc. Experts suggest buying souvenirs is fish sauce at Ham Ninh fishing village, eating fresh seafood. Travel + Leisure also appreciates the luxury resorts here because they are all geared towards sustainability. This makes Phu Quoc becomes the "paradise for responsible, conscious travelers". In 2022, a low-cost airline in Vietnam opened direct flights from the island to New Delhi and Mumbai. This gives tourists "the opportunity to explore a larger area" (Phu Quoc), in addition to visiting traditional places such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Long Bay.


On January 15th, Travel + Leisure suggested to international visitors about 23 destinations to visit if they want to travel. These places, some are emerging, some are already familiar to tourists. But the common criterion is to bring interesting experiences and be the best destination in 2023, according to tourism experts. The rest of the places on the list are Alberta (Canada), AlUla (Saudi Arabia), Halkidiki (Greece), Jodhpur (India) or Lima (Peru).
